i didn't expect to ever finish this album. after the release of "in everywhere" i found myself really confused about where i wanted to go musically. i thought going on hiatus was the solution, but that didn't turn out to be the case. i thought switching styles entirely was the solution, but that wasn't the case either.

since i got to college in august 2022 i've made several attempts at creating "the next abstract projections album". my first attempts were at a mego-style glitch album, which eventually culminated in the track "saragon" which i performed at KGFEST23. my second attempt was a weird, noisy, drone-y shoegaze album (with vocals), which ended up producing the songs "Puppet star" and what ended up becoming the interstates reasoning song "honesty detached". i spent many, many months trying to make this shoegaze-style album work to no avail. from around november 2022 - july 2023 i was trying to make that work. i made a lot of unfinished demos but pretty much the only things that got fleshed out were the two songs that make up the "two songs" EP and "puppet star".

it was when i recorded the improvised takes that make up the song "feedfront loop" that i decided to can the shoegaze project and turn it into the interstates reasoning project, and commit to making this weird thing that i don't really know how to describe. the process was long and drawn out but i'm glad i was just able to finish something. even if it sucks i'm just glad i have this weight off my shoulders and i can finally say i was able to finish this thing, whatever it turns out to be.
