i thought that sleep would clear the clouds.

i thought that the affliction was temporary, a passing thing that was able to be cured by a simple solution.

i thought that i could appreciate the blue skies for once, instead of cursing them.

instead i loop back to square one, splicing tape to exacerbate what i already know.

echoes of what i once had taunt me as i go about my day, laughing at me for somehow still going on.

it is unclear why i still emerge from sleep.
